Down on one Knee

We stood on Mount Washington over looking the Pittsburgh sky.
I was feeling so sick to my stomach,
I think it was from the butterflies inside.
You could tell something was different,
That this evening was going to be special
And you were right.
For tonight our lives will change
And from this moment on we will never be the same.

Even from the beginning I wanted to wake up next to you.
You’re the girl I want by my side,
With you in my life Im so excited to be alive
And every day I still believe
You bring out the best in me

I don’t care what mom says
Or if were ready just yet.
The timing is now and couldn’t be any better
Look at all the storms that we have weathered
We lasted a few years and then we made it through four
And I feel we can last a 100 more.
(Ring in my pocket, who would have thought it)

I grab you by your hand,
(I hope I’m everything you wanted in a man.)
I’m down on one knee,
Emotions erupted in your eyes.
(Can you believe this is happening?)
We waited for this all of our lives.
Even I got choke up and all I can get out was a whisper;
“You are my girl,
You are my life,
So I’m asking you…
Will you be my wife?”
